DANVILLE – State Senator Paul Faraci joined the Illinois Secretary of State in announcing libraries in Danville, Westville and Oakwood will benefit from more than $68,000 in state funds through the Secretary of State’s Public Library Per Capita and Equalization Aid Grant program.
“No matter your age, there are many ways to benefit from services provided at local libraries,” said Faraci (D-Champaign). “It’s essential to keep funding our libraries because these investments result in more resources for the community and help ensure they stay accessible for years to come.”
The Public Library Per Capita and Equalization Aid Grants are awarded annually to support public libraries across Illinois in providing services to nearly 12 million patrons statewide. This year, the Secretary of State awarded $18 million to 639 public libraries across the state to help fund new services such as public programming, dual language opportunities, internet access, personnel and more. The following libraries in Faraci’s portion of Vermilion County will receive grants:
- Oakwood Public Library District: $8,218
- Westville Public Library District: $16,961
- Danville Public Library: $43,075
