Faraci brings transparency to veteran benefits through new law

SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Paul Faraci co-sponsored a new law aiming to bring more transparency around benefits to veterans and service members.
“We want to make sure no veteran is left in the dark wondering what benefits they are eligible for,” said Faraci (D-Champaign). “This is just a small way that we can further show our support to those who defend our democracy and freedoms that we often take for granted.”
The measure requires the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs to produce and distribute a comprehensive benefits, services and protections poster. The goal of this is to give veterans and service members streamlined access to information about critical resources — such as tax benefits and the Illinois veteran driver’s license — empowering these individuals to navigate the complexities of their available support systems effectively. The measure centralizes essential information in one accessible format, helping to facilitate informed decision-making.
House Bill 4757 was signed into law on Friday and takes effect Jan. 1.
Faraci encourages local families to attend Back to School Bash

DANVILLE – To support local families as they prepare for the new school year, State Senator Paul Faraci is encouraging residents to attend the Back to School Bash hosted by the Vermilion County Health Department and OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center on Aug. 1.
“The Back to School Bash is a wonderful opportunity for families in Vermilion County to receive the resources and support they need prior to the start of the new school year,” said Faraci (D-Champaign). “I’m thrilled to see so many organizations coming together to support the families in our communities.”
Eleven organizations will attend the event this year. Faraci highlighted the involvement of the Illinois Soybean Association, noting the organization will be providing diapers, diaper rash cream, prenatal vitamins, water, nutrition bars, other snacks and more, ensuring families have access to necessary supplies as they get ready for the school year.
Faraci to host senior fraud seminars

CHAMPAIGN – To help seniors learn how to protect themselves from scam artists and fraudulent businesses, State Senator Paul Faraci is hosting senior fraud seminars in partnership with the CRIS Healthy Aging Center of Vermilion and Champaign County.
“With the threat of fraud on the rise, it becomes increasingly important to protect our seniors,” said Faraci (D-Champaign). “Hosting senior fraud seminars in our district ensures we’re equipping older adults with the knowledge and resources they need to safeguard their finances.”
Faraci’s office is hosting two senior fraud seminars on Monday, July 15. The Danville seminar will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the CRIS Healthy Aging Center located at 309 N. Franklin St. The Champaign seminar will begin at 3 p.m. at the CRIS Healthy Aging Center located at 4116 Fieldstone Rd.

Faraci applauds $51 million investment to UIUC-led iFAB tech hub

CHAMPAIGN – State Senator Paul Faraci and the U.S. Economic Development Administration announced approximately $51 million for the Illinois Fermentation and Agriculture Biomanufacturing Tech Hub.
“I am thrilled to see the iFAB Tech Hub receive this funding,” said Faraci (D-Champaign). “This investment emphasizes the importance of promoting cutting-edge research and development in our state. We are paving the way for projects and services that will benefit our communities and economy for generations to come.”
The iFAB Tech Hub, led by the Integrated Bioprocessing Research Labortory at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, unites over 30 partners from academia, industry and government in Central Illinois to meet the growing demand for fermentation in biomanufacturing. Funding for the hub will be allocated through a Phase 2 Implementation grant to support infrastructure development and industry partnerships, positioning Illinois as a leader in precision fermentation.
